Beverly Parson White
I am a native Texan and attended North Texas State University (now known as
the University of North Texas) where after many years in and out, I graduated
with a B. F. A. in drawing and painting taking my last two years primarily
with graduate students. Graduation was, as one Professor pointed out it
would be,
a time of realization of how much I don’t know. I seem to be at my best in
academia and view life as a continuous learning experience. I
currently
teach private art lessons, as well as draw and paint.
I make art because, like breathing, I don’t know how to exist without that
process. I guess one could say that I reflect the world in my art as I
would
like it to be because I have seen too much of what it can really be like.
My work is in many private, corporate and university collections throughout
the country.
I am a sole parent of two gorgeous children. My son is handsome, brilliant
and astounds me daily. He is mature and dependable beyond his years. My
daughter is beautiful, an incredible singer and a joy to be around. She is
also diabetic, asthmatic and has a multitude of other medical issues. She
constantly amazes me with her discipline and her limitless capacity for love
and finding pleasure in her world. My children challenge and inspire me to
see the miraculous beauty and the Hand of God in our world which I humbly try
to depict in my work.
